I stumbled upon the artist fund while I was on the Night Swim website submitting some music. I figured it wouldn't hurt to apply so I filled out the application and next thing I knew I actually got it. I'm so stoked to use my new Akai for my productions and hopefully some future live shows! Definitely gonna get a lot of use out of this thank you Night Swim!

"Field Recorder for Samples"
"I applied for the night swim artist fund because I know how passionate the NSR community is about helping up and coming artists. The zoom recorder I was bestowed with will be used in my day to day hours when I’m not in the studio. Often times I come across many cool sounds and textures I wish to record but my phone simply does not produce the quality of samples I’m looking to record. This zoom device will greatly increase the number of foley/field recordings I incorporate in my music as well as provide a much more swift transition of those recordings from device to DAW. This addition to my creative arsenal will truly help me make music that’s even more true to my creative self."

"I want to thank Night Swim Radio for supporting my dream as an artist by providing me with my first powerful piece of equipment, the Akai mini Mk3. With this MIDI Keyboard, I can finally expand beyond the limitations I was once facing. Finding and arranging chords is possible but hardly enjoyable and I found myself with a gnarly case of beat block. Now I can produce on the go anywhere I want in the world and don't have to worry about mashing a bunch of keys on my laptop to get a sound. I never thought I would one day get the equipment I needed to expand, but thankfully The Night Swim Artist Fund was there to help make my dream a reality. It truly was a humbling experience to receive this keyboard, thanks."

"I’ve been producing on an AKAI MPKmini for a couple years now. While it’s the classic “beginner’s MIDI controller” and I will still use it, my musical development has generated the need to expand the amount of piano keys and drum pads available. This keyboard and drum pad module will allow me access to use more sounds in real time, without having to stop to change parameters constantly."
